Bathroom supervision

Four-panel illustrated comic. Connor works on a book at his desk while Eddie sits beside him watching. The bathroom door is almost closed with just Connor’s fingertips visible at its edge, leaving Eddie outside in a plain hallway. Eddie scratches at the closed door. Finally, from Connor’s viewpoint seated on the toilet, his bare knees and lowered trousers frame Eddie sitting in front of him, staring attentively. Caption: “No unsupervised breaks.”

Quality control

Single-panel comic: Eddie, a small near-black dog with large upright ears and a blue collar, sleeps curled across manuscript pages on a wooden desk. His chin rests on an open proof displaying The Trouser Cheesemonger illustration on the left and its monologue and polite reply on the right and one paw covers its page. An unused red pencil and an untouched three-box checklist sit nearby. Caption: “Quality control has reached a comfortable conclusion.”

Seat reservation

Two-panel illustrated comic in a cosy study. In the first panel, Connor steps away from his empty black office chair with a mug while Eddie sits beside it. In the second, Connor returns with a steaming mug and looks down at Eddie, now curled up asleep on the same chair. Caption: “You moved. You forfeited.”

Selective hearing

Three-panel illustrated comic in a cosy living room. Connor calls from the doorway while Eddie sleeps on his blue bed. A closer view shows Eddie still resting. Finally, Connor reaches into a kitchen wall cupboard for a bag of crisps for himself. Eddie is already standing on all four paws immediately behind his legs, looking up at the packet. Caption: “Nothing wrong with his hearing.”

Editorial feedback

Single-panel illustrated comic. Sapna, wearing burgundy glasses and a burgundy jumper, holds a manuscript page with red proofreading marks and two muddy paw prints. Eddie sits on the desk beside her with a muddy front paw raised and several more paw prints across the manuscript stack. They exchange an amused, innocent look. Caption: “A few minor amendments.”

Urgent matter

Two-panel illustrated comic. Connor works on manuscript pages at his desk while Eddie sits beside his chair with one yellow tennis ball. In the second panel, Connor turns towards Eddie, who has assembled several toys at his feet and holds a rope tug hopefully in his mouth. Caption: “This requires your immediate attention.”

Overtime

Four-panel illustrated comic. Late at night, Connor and Sapna work on manuscripts at a normal-height wooden desk while Eddie sleeps in his blue bed on the floor. Eddie opens his eyes and spots his rope toy beside the bed. While Connor gets a book from the shelf and Sapna looks away towards the window, Eddie gets onto the desk and sits on the manuscript papers with the rope toy laid in front of him; both humans turn back to discover him. Finally, Connor and Sapna sit on the rug playing with Eddie, with the work set aside. Closing line: Quality control called a break.
